I’d been part of those who felt companies from the United States and so many others established factories in China because of cheap labour.
How cheap could it be to hire someone to do jobs others would have charged higher? It felt a bit awkward. It came off exploitative, even though every business owner would want to have input of production at low costs.
Listening to Tim Cook of Apple changed all that recently. Tim debunked that narrative and pushed forward the truth that Chinese people have such depth of expertise required for specialised tooling in the factories owned by Apple. Tech giants like Huawei, Tencent, Baidu and ByteDance have found their own homes in China.
China spends extensively on research and development. Only the United States of America rivals them on this. Their research institutions focus keenly on applied research into artificial intelligence, semiconductions, biotechnology. Many of their academic institutions are focused on tech. In cities like Shenzhen, Hangzhou, and Beijing, tech startups have supports from venture capitalists that have lots of money. The country supports them too. Funnily enough, companies in China started by copy, but they lead now in these areas. The young population are so inclined towards use of tech that their brains are darlings to companies.
I’ve often watched documentaries where people narrate how their lives changed by moving to clusters. The aura and energy that grip the atmosphere and make you fluid with the ecosystem’s peculiarity are electric and infectious. So, it is a given that when you move to China, you can do extremely well in tech. It’s a given that when you move to New York, you can do extremely well in finance. India is recognized as a leading nation in the field of medicine, particularly in pharmaceutical production and medical tourism. It’s a given that when you move to India, you can excel in the field of medicine.
Patterns of similarity sharpen perception, offering insights that resonate deeply. It’s a life lesson that abounds.
Cluster with dumbfucks and you become one. Cluster with angels, you’d probably wear wings, too.
